Miami truck driving schools provide the training needed to earn a commercial driver's license (CDL), which is needed to drive a commercial vehicle in Florida. To earn a Florida CDL, applicants must be 18 years or older (21 to haul cargo across state lines), have a valid Florida driver’s license, pass a vision exam and obtain a medical certificate. After meeting these requirements, applicants must then take a general knowledge exam and a three part skills test that includes a pre-trip vehicle inspection, a control skills test and an on-road driving exam.
Endorsements are needed to drive a truck with air brakes, a tanker truck, a truck with double/triple trailers, a school bus or to haul hazardous materials or passengers. Additional knowledge and skills test may be needed to obtain these endorsements. Miami truck driving schools will prepare you to pass these examinations.
